For adult students $84 Tuesdays, August 20 & 27, 2024 9 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Students will learn how to find a composition, define it with a thumbnail sketch of light and value and learn how to capture a scene with a limited color palette. We will meet at the school August 20th to go over paperwork and then travel to Mirror Pond at Manito Park to work on our pastels. There is no lab fee. The instructor will not be providing pastels or any drawing surface. Beginning Plein Air with T Kurtz Supply List Students will need: A selection of soft pastels at least 1 landscape set of 20 or more. Drawing board to mount the drawing surface to. Art tape A mat with a 5 x 7 opening (can come out of a Goodwill frame). Baby wipes Small sketchbook Pencil Drawing surface (UArt, Spectrum Color Fix or Pastel mat) Water to drink Suggested supplies: Free standing easel Chair or stool Hat Sunscreen Try to deep your equipment to a minimum, you never know when you may want to or have to move. *Pre-registration is required for Art School classes; classes will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Students will be registered ONLY on receipt of payment. Enrollment requirements for all classes: 3 students minimum. Classes with low enrollment are cancelled 48 hours before the class is scheduled to begin. Refunds and Cancellation Policies: If a class is cancelled due to low enrollment, a full refund will be issued. Refunds or class credit will not be issued for any other reason than cancellation of a class due to low enrollment.
