For Adult students $168+ $10 Supply Fee Thursdays, September 12, 19, 26 and October 3, 10 & 17, 2024 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. Figure drawing is not rocket science or magic, there are specific skills and a clear path toward mastery. Knowing the various skills required and how to focus on their development through disciplined practice will lead to that mastery. This class will introduce you to the fundamental skills and a plan for jumpstarting your figure drawing journey. Each weekly meeting we will cover one skill: simple shapes, gesture, value and form, proportion, line quality and simple anatomy. (Anatomy for the artist does not require memorization of difficult labels.) Life drawing classes with live models are great for practice, however, the fundamentals are usually not taught. This class will give you a clear understanding of the underlying fundamentals needed to improve your ability to “see” and draw the human figure. Drawing pencils Charcoal I will provide reference photos, handouts etc. I will provide a variety of drawing materials to explore. *Pre-registration is required for Art School classes; classes will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Students will be registered ONLY on receipt of payment. Enrollment requirements for all classes: 3 students minimum. Classes with low enrollment are cancelled 48 hours before the class is scheduled to begin. Refunds and Cancellation Policies: If a class is cancelled due to low enrollment, a full refund will be issued. Refunds or class credit will not be issued for any other reason than cancellation of a class due to low enrollment.
